About

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Nicole, and if there’s one thing this blog will demonstrate, it’s that I care a lot — about a lot of things. I am a 25-year-old working professional whose career began in a newsroom and now sits on the other side of media industry tracks in public relations. Beyond my profession, I am an avid (amateur) runner, a serial home baker, and a fervent novice photographer. I am an INFJ and an introvert through and through. I love dogs (especially my golden retriever, Daisy), desserts, and discovering new music. But most of all, my one true passion in life is storytelling.

During my college career as a journalism student, I realized rather quickly how much I enjoying gathering information, distilling it into its core components, and identifying like puzzle pieces the proper words to put together the whole of the story.

This infatuation with words, the meanings they can convey, and the tales they can come together to tell is what led me to What Matters Today. Here, I’ll share anything and everything that matters in my brain on a given day — from a recipe I’ve finally tested out, to the run I just completed, to a timely news topic, to that new song I just can’t get out of my head. You’ll also find some bits and pieces of my creative writing endeavors, as well as some of my favorite pieces of photography to come out of my Nikon.

While I’ll always be sharing something different with each post, please know one thing is for sure: all that lives on What Matters Today comes from my heart.

I hope you enjoy, and thanks for visiting.

Nicole
